Saddle up and join our team of experienced trail guides as they take you on either a 90-minute or a 60-minute group ride. Regardless of your experience level, you can enjoy over 25 miles of trails winding through.

We have 35 horses and almost 400 acres of land to explore and ride on, including the beautiful shoreline of Possum Kingdom Lake. Come and enjoy a long relaxing trail ride on one of our great friends, or, visit each week to saddle up and learn horsemanship skills with our riding lesson program.

My name is TJ Ranft.  I am a third generation fishing guide at Possum Kingdom Lake.  Both my father and grandfather were fishing guides on our lake before me.  My family moved to Possum Kingdom Lake in 1946.  I grew up fishing this beautiful lake and enjoy sharing my passion with others.

Possum Kingdom State Park offers fun on water and land. On water, you can swim, boat, fish, ski, scuba dive and snorkel. On land, you can camp, picnic, hike, bike, study nature and geocache.

The rolling hills that surround Possum Kingdom Lake are ideal terrain for both casual and serious hikers and bikers. Numerous trails, shaded from the Texas sun by trees and large boulders, offer refreshing views of the lake. The recently completed Hike & Bike Trail is already a favorite.

The 20-mile section below Possum Kingdom is a scenic treasure with towering cliffs and limestone boulders landscaped with cottonwoods, oaks, mesquites, cedars, willows, pecans and grapevines along the stream that usually is crystal clear.

Rochelle’s canoe rental is fully open and ready to put you on the water! You must call and book your trip prior to arriving as we do everything by reservation.

Possum Kingdom Lake runs along the Brazos River.  Extending out of the southeast corner of the lake is a great place to kayak along the Brazos River.  There is a bridge and kayak launching area right off of Highway 16 on the east side of the lake.
